Tuscany Travel Guide

For those travelling to Tuscany in February we would like to highlight some interesting events and exhibitions: Opening of Galleria Tannaz in Florence A new exhibitions hall, a new art gallery, is opening in Florence with an interesting cultural project devoted to eight contemporary art artists.

The exhibition, bearing a significant name, Incipit, gathers pieces by Catalina Arcuri, Cresci Fabio, Giulio De Mitri, Massimo Innocenti, Francesco Landucci, Mauro Manetti, Puppo Walter and Addo Trinci. The works, created with different artistic painting techniques, look into natural forms as part of a symbolic whole which is the universal equilibrium.

In Pietrasanta in the province of Lucca the artist Marcello Polacci presents " Versilia Sognata" The exhibition displays marble blocks composed of geometrical shapes and colours mirroring human fragility and the sense of being which is a dominating theme in Marcello Polacci's art. The exhibition is open from 11th February till 19th March 2011 in the Salones de Putti. About 50 paintings created from 1996 to 2006 will be exhibited in chronological order to highlight the different stages of Polacci 's artistic development. The author was a renowned doctor in Versilia who started painting at 50. In the 60s he dedicated himself to art and left medicine.
